Supporting Young People with a caring role aged under 18 years and whose life is affected by caring. Young carers are children or young people who look after someone in their family who has an illness, a disability, a mental health problem or a substance misuse problem. They may be taking on practical and/or emotional caring responsibilities that an adult would normally do. Caring tasks can include:

With so many adult responsibilities, young carers often miss out on opportunities that other young people have and are often afraid to ask for help as they fear being taken into care.
